Learning Activity Boxes ~1st week in Feb. 2012

I apologize that this post took a little longer to get out to everyone.  Things have been what I call... overly busy!!!  My last two weekends were tied up with the graduation of our son and apartment hunting in Pittsburgh, a city I don't know very well at all... but I do remember those hills from when I was a little girl and we drove there to visit relatives.  The hills are still there... as steep as I remember.  And this week... moving him to Pittsburgh... can I say no rest for the tired!!!

I also started the "Pink Method" this month.  It is a healthy eating/exercise program.  I don't like to say the "diet" word because to me they really aren't saying you can't eat until you feel full... you just have to do it with veggies.  I do the exercise portion as I put the children down for naps and spend about 40 minutes working out.  It is taking a "huge" chunk out of my "get everything done" time.  So the blog sometimes has to wait!  I can say if you want to eat healthy and get in shape... it is a terrific program and in the first month I've lost 20 lbs.  Many more to go... but I am happy with the results and don't feel hungry most of the time.

And lastly, I started two new families.  Yes... the daycare fairies finally made it my way.  I have two sibling part-timers and one almost full-timer.  Very nice families and nice children.

So hopefully things will settle down after this weekend... and I will be back into the groove.

So on to the Learning Activity Boxes...
Thanks to "Our Country Road" posting about her learning trays I was able to make this last busy week rather painless and put it together quickly.  Sorry I have no new printables to share this week... but am hoping next week will be a different story.

Here is what I put in our Learning Activity Box

This is a Groundhog game from "A Child's Place".  Let me tell you a huge hit with my
children.  They play it constantly!  I also must say I got using squinkies as the game
pieces (and my ten year old has waaaayyyy many) from a blog (sorry can't remember at this time)
and they worked fabulously!

Tracing numbers from 0-10 from Confessions of a Homeschooler.

Snowman magnet sheet from Confessions of a Homeschooler.

Snowflake matching from Confessions of a Homeschooler.

Roll and cover and I'm sorry... I can't remember where I got this. But
the children roll and cover the number of snowmen that they rolled and try to
cover all the snowmen.

Snowman Addition Fun from Making Learning Fun.

Snowman building from Confessions of a Homeschooler.

Number sequencing from 1-10 from Confessions of a Homeschooler.

Like I said... simply put together thanks to some very talented people who share there creations so generously on the internet.
Enjoy,
Rose

  1. Just thought I would help you out...the roll and cover snowmen are from PreKinders.com. It is in her winter theme section under grid games. I wish more people would put there blog or website address on their stuff unless they really don't want credit. I run into this problem too, and I know how much work these are to create!
