This week we had a slow week. We didn't do a letter and had more time to play.
We did some activities with kites. We tied it in to how windy the springtime is.
We traced diamonds as regular kites are diamond shaped and then we colored the diamonds
in the make kites.
We matched kites.
We did a dot-to-dot from 1-5 and then traced the numbers (we need some practice forming
numbers).
We used dot markers to make kites.
We played a roll and color game to help us recognize numbers. Each child got several turns
to roll the die. If it landed on a number that hadn't been colored yet the child that rolled got to
pick what color we would color it.
We talked about caterpillars and butterflies.
We heard a story about Molly the butterfly and sequenced Molly's life.
We also waterpainted butterflies.
We talked about bees.
We reviewed the number 11 and made 11 bees.
I love how they each come out a little different.
We talked about flowers.
We ordered seed packets from 1-10.
We showed how a flower grows.
We did a flower dot-to-dot.
We put the number of petals on a flower that the center number indicated.
We made a paper piecing flower from over at Making Learning Fun.
We fingerpainted a flower using a paper plate and construction paper stems and leaves.
We learned the nursery rhyme, "Mary, Mary Quite Contrary" and made some
beautiful gardens.
We made books about things that are oval shaped.
That's it. Hope you enjoyed our week.
Best,
Rose
Very nice creativity. I am going to 'borrow' some of your ideas, if you don't mind?
