First week of March

Another very busy week here!!!

We spent 4 days doing our regular learning time and we skipped one day (Tuesday) to complete our assessments. This week I will be writing up the results so I can conduct parent conferences next week. It's so interesting to see how much the children have learned, where they have improved from the last one... and sometimes they just surprise me with things they really haven't shown me they've grasped.

This week we were introduced to the letter Rr. This week was no different... we completed our Rr book. Here are pictures of it.

We talked about what our address is, why we have an address, and why it is important to learn our address. This month we will focus on learning our address. We made an address paper to hang up at home to practice our address.

We talked about kites. We matched them and waterpainted a kite. We are so ready for spring!!!

We reviewed the number 9.

We started our "Counting Weather Books". This week we made the cover and then we completed page 1.

Our weather books will get us talking a lot about science. Since page 1 was about the sun, we talked about the sun. We then used dot markers and cut pieces of orange paper to make our own sun.

And our week wouldn't be complete without spending some time celebrating Dr. Suess's birthday. We painted a "Cat in the Hat" hat and made our own version of Thing 1 and Thing 2.

Thanks for taking the time to see what we've been up to!
