Trying to get caught up today...  so I've posted twice.

Here is what we did this week...
We learned about the letter Rr and did our letter books.  I did both a Preschool and Tot version to the book.

This is our Preschool Letter Rr Book
On our cover we colored the letter Rr and the rabbit.

On the left we put together three piece puzzles of Rr and colored the rabbits that had an Rr
on them.  On the right we found the one that was different and did a pre-writing activity.

On the left we colored the spaces on the rocket that had a letter Rr and we circled the letters
in the row that were the same as the first letter in the box.  On the right we did a letter hunt from
Confessions of a Homeschooler.

On the left we found Rr pictures through clues and then followed directions to color them and then
we traced letter R.  On the right we colored the picture in each box that began with the /r/ sound
and traced r.

On the left we circled the letter that each picture began with and traced/printed letter R's.  On the right
we colored the pictures that began with the /r/ sound and printed r's on the line below the picture
and we traced/printed letter r.

On the left we drew lines from pictures to the letter that makes its beginning sound and we circled and printed the letter that is the beginning picture sound.  On the right we printed the letter that makes each
pictures beginning sound and we traced/printed Rr's.

This is our Tot Letter Rr Book
We used dot markers to make letter Rr's from Confessions of a Homeschooler.

Third Week in February 2012

When is the "busy" going to end!?!  This has been a year so far where my plate is so full and keeps filling... but for some reason I can't empty any of it.  Hope that changes soon as I do not like that feeling.

This past week we did the following...
We learned about the letter Qq and did are "Letter Qq Books".  I did both a Tot book and a Preschool book this week.

Our Preschool Qq Book looked like this
This is the cover and we colored the letter Qq's and the queen.

On the left we put together two three-peice puzzles of the letter Qq and we colored queens that
had a Qq in them.  On the right we colored the picture that was different and circled letters that
were the same as in the first box.

On the left we colored parts of the quilt that had a Qq and we listened to clues to find the right Qq
picture and then followed directions to color the picture.  On the right we drew lines from the letter to
a picture that started with the sound of the letter and we traced Qq's.

On the left we used Confessions of a Homeschoolers letter hunt to find the letter Qq's.  On the right
we drew lines from the pictures to the letter that we heard in the beginning of the word.

On the left we listened to the beginning sound of the picture, circled the letter that makes that beginning sound, and printed the letter and we traced and printed Qq's.  On the right we listened to the picture name in each diamond and circled the
letter on the point that makes that beginning sound and we printed/traced letter Qq's.

On the left we circled the letter that makes the beginning sound of the picture in front of the letters
and we traced and printed letter Qq's.  On the right we printed the letter that makes the beginning
sound in each picture.

Our Tot Letter Qq Book looked like this
We used our dot markers to make a Q by filling in each circle with a dot.  From

We talked about the /q/ sound in queen and colored the Qq's. This is from

Here we colored a quilt for Qq from Confessions of a Homeschooler.

We put quilt shape patterns together from Confessions of a Homeschooler.

We attempted to trace the letter Qq from Confessions of a Homeschooler and then
we colored it.

We found pictures that started with Qq and tried to color them a specific color from

We found all the Qq's on the queen and colored them from 1+1+1=1.

And we matched queens from a grayscale picture to a colored picture from

We learned and did activities with the nursery rhyme Jack and Jill.

We colored a picture that goes with the rhyme.

We sequenced the rhyme and you can find it here.

We talked about the occupation of a construction worker.

We talked about what a construction worker does and then we lowered and lifted
a flag to signal to traffic that it was safe and not safe to go.

We rolled and covered tools a construction worker might use.  The first one who covered the
